To assist in understanding and adapting to climate change, Bundaberg Regional Council has developed a Coastal Hazard Adaptation Strategy (CHAS) for its 110km of coastline. The CHAS looks at hazards such as coastal erosion, storm tide inundation and sea level rise and their potential impacts on community, infrastructure and the environment. A public consultation phase occurred Monday 3rd August 2020 - 31st August 2020 seeking feedback on the draft strategy. The final version of the Bundaberg Region Coastal Hazard Adaptation Strategy and Action Plan was adopted by Council at the Ordinary Meeting of 29 September 2020.
